The Committee on Regions and Governorates in the House of Representatives, chaired by Representative Ahmed Mazhar al-Jubouri, hosted His Excellency the Head of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, Engineer Saad Amin Faisal al-Jubouri, in the presence of several members of Parliament, along with senior staff from the Fund.
During the meeting, the progress of the Fund's work was discussed and reviewed, along with the projects implemented in the affected governorates and the most significant achievements. The obstacles hindering the work were also discussed, as well as the plans in place to complete reconstruction projects and restore life and stability to those governorates that suffered from the crimes of terrorism and ISIS.His Excellency the Chairman of the Fund also discussed the most significant obstacles hindering the progress of work and project implementation, foremost among them the delay in disbursing payments to contractors who contributed to the execution and completion of numerous projects. He emphasized that expediting these payments would contribute to the resumption of stalled projects, accelerate the pace of work, and ensure projects are completed according to the established plans.
The committee stressed the importance of supporting the contractors' demands and taking the necessary measures to disburse their financial dues, thus guaranteeing the continuation of reconstruction efforts and the completion of projects within the specified timeframes and plans.The committee also emphasized the importance of supporting the Fund's efforts and called upon the Prime Minister and the Parliament to take the necessary measures to address the obstacles facing its work and to support its plans and projects. This would contribute to accelerating project completion and disbursing contractors' dues, serving the people of the affected governorates and strengthening reconstruction efforts and stability in these areas.
