This rehabilitation work is being carried out under the directives of the Fund’s Head, Engineer Saad Amin Faisal Al-Jubouri, and is being supervised by engineering and technical teams from the Fund’s headquarters and the Nineveh branch.
Current operations involve road surface milling and the application of a surface layer using polymer-modified bitumen. This process aims to improve the properties of the asphalt mixture, enhancing its resistance to high temperatures and heavy traffic loads, thereby increasing the road's efficiency and extending its service life.
Concurrently, the Fund emphasizes strict adherence to approved technical specifications and occupational safety protocols. Warning and directional signs are being installed throughout the work sites to ensure the safety of workers and road users, and to mitigate potential risks during project execution.
This project is considered vital for Nineveh Governorate due to its role in improving the road network and enhancing traffic flow. It serves the governorate's population—particularly in western Nineveh—by facilitating transportation and supporting development, reconstruction, and stability efforts in the region.
