His Excellency the Chairman of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations Meets with a High-Level Delegation from the World Bank
His Excellency the Chairman of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, Engineer Saad Amin Al-Jubouri, met today with a high-level delegation from the World Bank to discuss a number of issues of mutual interest.The meeting was attended by a number of World Bank officials, including representatives from the Procurement Department, the Director of the Integrity Unit, the Director of Operations, and the Director of the Contracts Department at the Fund.During the meeting, a number of issues related to the legal and contractual aspects of projects undertaken by the Ministry of Electricity and the governorates of Anbar and Diyala were discussed, with a focus on the existing challenges and ways to address them.His Excellency emphasized during the discussion the importance of adopting transparency and clarity in dealing with these issues and the necessity of reaching practical and convincing solutions in accordance with professional standards and established procedures, in order to support the implementation of projects and achieve their developmental goals. His Excellency stated that the Fund is keen to strengthen cooperation with international partners, foremost among them the World Bank, to address the legal and contractual challenges facing the projects of the Ministry of Electricity and the governorates of Anbar and Diyala. This aims to ensure the acceleration of project completion and the achievement of the highest levels of transparency and efficiency in the implementation of service projects for the benefit of the people of our liberated areas.
In the same vein, a technical workshop organized by the World Bank is expected to be held at the headquarters of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Affected Areas in Baghdad on the morning of January 20th. The workshop will discuss mechanisms for handling contracts and resolving contractual issues according to legal standards that comply with the regulations and instructions of the World Bank and are consistent with established procedures.
