In accordance with the directives of His Excellency the Chairman of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, Engineer Saad Amin al-Jubouri, the site for the road rehabilitation project linking the Bab al-Sham checkpoint and the al-Kask Junction was handed over to the implementing company in the presence of the Governor of Nineveh, Mr. Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil, the Director of the Fund's Nineveh branch, the Deputy Governor for Reconstruction, the Director of Nineveh Roads and Bridges, and the Resident Engineer for the project.
The project spans 35.5 km (round trip) and is considered a vital strategic project in Nineveh Governorate due to the significant improvements it will provide to infrastructure and the facilitation of movement for citizens and goods, particularly in western Nineveh. The project is a significant step within the Fund's plan to rehabilitate the road network, contributing to economic development, connecting vital areas, alleviating traffic congestion, and improving road safety.
The project is expected to be completed within the contractual period of 180 days, as part of the Reconstruction Fund's ongoing efforts to revitalize affected areas and provide the best possible services to the people of Nineveh Governorate.
