In accordance with the directives of His Excellency the Chairman of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, Engineer Saad Amin Faisal al-Jubouri, and with the follow-up of the Fund's engineering staff in the Nineveh branch and the supervision of the project's resident engineer's office, formed by the Nineveh Roads and Bridges Directorate, work continues on the rehabilitation project of the road linking Bab al-Sham checkpoint and al-Kask junction, a distance of 35.5 km round trip.The project has seen the commencement of the first layer of paving work, starting from station (0+000) towards station (1+000), while work continues on milling the existing road at other stations and conducting technical studies for subsequent sections of the road in preparation for completing the implementation phases according to the established plan. The resident engineer's office and the contracting company were also instructed to fully comply with occupational safety procedures and install warning and directional signs along the work sites to ensure the protection of workers and road users from any potential hazards.

This project is considered vital and important in Nineveh Governorate due to its significant role in improving the road network and enhancing traffic flow, as well as its contribution to serving the residents of the governorate in general and western Nineveh in particular, thus supporting development and reconstruction efforts in the governorate.
