In accordance with the directives of His Excellency the Chairman of the Fund for the Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, Engineer Saad Amin Faisal al-Jubouri, rehabilitation work continues on the road linking Bab al-Sham checkpoint and al-Kask junction, a 35.5 km round trip. This is part of the Fund's ongoing field efforts aimed at improving road efficiency and raising the level of services.The rehabilitation work included laying a 5 cm thick surface layer after compaction and treatment with a polymer additive to the asphalt mix to improve its properties and resistance to heat and high loads. Work also continues on removing damaged areas and laying crushed gravel at other stations.
This project is considered vital and important in Nineveh Governorate due to its significant role in improving the road network and enhancing traffic flow, as well as its contribution to serving the residents of the governorate in general and western Nineveh in particular, thus supporting development and reconstruction efforts in the governorate.Meanwhile, the Fund's engineering and technical staff continue to monitor the implementation phases to ensure that the work is completed according to the required specifications and the established timelines, thereby achieving the desired objectives and serving the people of Nineveh Governorate.
