Under the directives of the Head of the Fund for Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, Engineer Saad Amin Faisal Al-Jubouri, work is proceeding on the project to rehabilitate and pave the main road extending from the Hardan checkpoint to the Yarmouk Complex junction in the Al-Shamal subdistrict, Nineveh Governorate.
The work involved preparing the road for paving by excavating and leveling the natural ground to a specific depth (creating the sub-grade box), followed by laying layers of sub-base gravel (each 20 cm thick). This process includes watering and thorough compaction to ensure surface integrity and strength, followed by laying and compacting the sub-base layer, pouring sidewalks, and proceeding to the final paving stage with asphalt. This ensures the road achieves the required durability and load-bearing capacity, thereby facilitating transportation, reducing traffic congestion, and interconnecting cities and regions—all of which supports the national economy and accelerates the delivery of services and goods.
This project is considered a vital initiative that contributes to improving local conditions and developing infrastructure. It positively impacts citizen mobility and traffic flow while enhancing the area's service and urban landscape.
